An accident on th A38 has now been cleared, it has been revealed. Reports of an accident on the A38 were received early this afternoon as motorists were asked to avoid the area. Traffic and travel website Inrix reported an accident on the A38 near Claymills.Staffordshire Police confirmed a black Astra hit the central reservation at 1.50pm. A charity which helps send out shoeboxes full of treats to children around the world is urging people who have any spare wool to either donate it, or get to work knitting with it. Motorists are being warned of long delays due to a serious collision which is currently causing traffic problems. A pedestrian from Alton died after colliding with a car in a town centre street. Paramedics were unable to save the life of Susan Cooper, who collided with a red Peugeot 407 in Ashbourne Road, Leek, on Thursday evening (March 16).
